Conference Overview

In an era of accelerating change, technological advancement and artificial intelligence are steadily reshaping how we work and live. For many, this is not simply about adapting to new tools, but facing a deeper unease—questions about job stability, a shaking sense of self-worth, and a re-examination of future direction. This annual conference is structured around the theme “Inner Self → Relationships → Social Future,” exploring how people can regain grounding, reconnect, and rebuild amid rapid change.

Talk 1 | Anchoring the Self in Uncertainty

Speakers: Dr. Susanna Wong-Ip, Dr. Katherine Kot

2026/06/06 Saturday 9:00am - 12:00pm (Hong Kong Time) Live on Zoom

As external environments become unpredictable and begin to affect job stability and sense of self, anxiety and unease becomes increasingly common. This talk helps participants understand the sources of these emotional responses, and explores how to cultivate stability, self-care, and an inner foundation that enables people to keep moving forward even when the path ahead remains unclear.

Workshop 1 | When the Future Becomes Unclear — Living with Anxiety, Uncertainty, and Helplessness

Speakers: Mrs. Nicole Wong

2026/06/13 Saturday 9:00am - 12:00pm (Hong Kong Time) Live on Zoom

When work and the future feel difficult to grasp, people may experience ongoing unease and a sense of losing control. This workshop supports participants in recognizing these emotional responses and bodily signals, and learning how to maintain psychological flexibility within uncertainty, gradually building the capacity to face change.

Workshop 2 | After Exhaustion — When ‘Being Strong’ Is No Longer the Answer

Speakers: Dr. Susanna Wong-Ip

2026/06/20 Saturday 9:00am - 12:00pm (Hong Kong Time) Live on Zoom

Constant adaptation to new demands can lead to prolonged tension and burnout. This workshop invites participants to re-examine life rhythms and inner needs, exploring how to establish a more sustainable way of living amid change, rather than simply continuing to “hang on.”

Talk 2 | Rupture, Silence, and Repair in Relationships

Speakers: Dr. Chin Fung, Dr. Katherine Kot

2026/06/27 Saturday 9:00am - 12:00pm (Hong Kong Time) Live on Zoom

When individuals face stress and uncertainty, relationships are often affected. Risks of unemployment, differences in values, and an uncertain future may create distance and silence between family and friends. This session explores the psychological meaning of silence and distance in relationships, helping participants understand one another’s needs and boundaries, and consider how space for understanding, respect, and repair can still be preserved without forcing consensus.

Workshop 3 | When We Can No Longer Speak Well — Trauma and Silence in Relationships

Speakers: Rev. Dr. Tak Him “Jeff” Shu

2026/07/04 Saturday 9:00am - 12:00pm (Hong Kong Time) Live on Zoom

Under anxiety and instability, communication often becomes difficult. This workshop helps participants understand emotional responses and defense mechanisms within relationships, and explores ways to maintain basic connection and a sense of safety without forcing or polarizing interactions.

Talk 3 | Connection and Rebuilding — When Roles Change, Who Am I Still?

Speakers: Rev. Dr. Simon Lee, Dr. Katherine Kot

2026/07/11 Saturday 9:00am - 12:00pm (Hong Kong Time) Live on Zoom

When work, roles, or even ways of living shift, people often tie their self-worth to external identities. This session explores how to re-understand “who I am” amid rapid change and instability, and how to retain dignity, a sense of choice, and life direction even when roles change—or are lost.

Workshop 4 | When Hope Becomes Difficult — Walking Alongside Those Who Cannot See the Future

Speakers: Dr. Katherine Kot

2026/07/18 Saturday 9:00am - 12:00pm (Hong Kong Time) Live on Zoom

When the future becomes unpredictable, plans and goals alone may no longer be sufficient. This workshop supports participants in exploring ways of living with uncertainty, cultivating the ability to make choices and move forward even without clear answers.

Workshop 5 | Not Losing Yourself Amid Change

Speakers: Dr. Katherine Kot

2026/07/25 Saturday 9:00am - 12:00pm (Hong Kong Time) Live on Zoom

When external conditions shift to the point of affecting work and identity, people may gradually feel disconnected from themselves. This workshop will guide participants in reorganizing personal values and priorities, and reflect on how to maintain a sense of self-coherence amid change—remaining grounded in oneself through different stages of change.
